Kirkham Grammar School Second XI Vs Westholme School 1st XI.
5-2 Loss.
After our successful run, KGS 1st X1 girls were eager to get another win under their belt. The game started with Westholme looking strong, they attacked well and put pressure on the KGS defence. Soon into the game Westholme managed to secure their first goal making it 1-0. Further goals were scored and by half time it was 3-2 to Westholme. Our girls realised they needed to move the ball quicker and pass stick to stick to their own team rather than providing an easy turn over for the opposition.
As the second half started, Westholme showed their determination to win the match. After two more goals for Westholme the game finished as a 5-2 loss for KGS. Kirkham battled to the end whistle and showed glimpses of great hockey. The girls now look forward to their next match against Royal Grammar School of Newcastle.
1st Xl v Stockport - Sat 18th Nov.
Won 3-0
Kirkham were focused from the whistle. This was a terrific team performance against a strong Stockport side. Livvi Huyton made piercing runs down the right to create wave after wave of attack. Amy Barrow was excellent in the centre of defence, whilst up front Charlotte McDonald and Hannah Mears caused chaos! Goals from Charlotte McDonald, Livvi Huyton and Hannah Mears gave Kirkham a well-deserved 3-0 victory.
U15 v Stockport
Won 3-0
This was a really gutsy team performance. Kirkham dominated much of the game but had to really battle to take control. Goals from Charlotte Cross and 2 from Lizzie Coulston gave the girls a well-deserved 3-0 victory.
