Last week, Upper Sixth Form student, Reuben, was given the opportunity to have a zoom call with the Army Air Corps about the next stages in selection to become an Officer Pilot. As an Army Sixth Form Scholar, Reuben has a confirmed place at Sandhurst, so now the next challenge is deciding which part of the army he would like to apply to join. The Army Air Corps is in his top two choices and if he got a commission with them then this means he is a step closer to becoming an army Apache pilot. Reuben now has to pass an aviation medical, pilot computer based aptitude tests at RAF Cranwell and flying grading before he starts at Sandhurst. Flying grading is a four week course at Middle Wallop where he will live in the officer's mess and complete 13 hours of flying a rotary-wing aircraft.
