KGS Rugby Academy Camps 2026
Book Your Place, HereKirkham Grammar School is proud to introduce the KGS Rugby Academy Camps - an exciting opportunity for young players to develop their skills, build confidence, and experience high-quality coaching in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Taking place in August 2026, this three-day immersive camp is designed to welcome players of all abilities, with a focus on participation, development, and enjoyment of the game.
Camp Overview
- Monday 17 – Wednesday 19 August 2026
- 3 days (2 nights for residential attendees)
- Residential and Non-Residential options available
- Fully catered (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included across all three days)
Please note: single-day bookings are not available.
Who Can Attend?
We are delighted to open the camp to both boys and girls, widening participation in rugby at KGS:
Group 1: Years 5 & 6 (Ages 9–11)
Group 2: Years 7–9 (Ages 12–14)*
*Please note that for Group 2, a minimum of 12 girls is required to form a dedicated girls' contact squad.
All groups are mixed ability, ensuring every player is supported and challenged appropriately.
What to Expect
Our Rugby Academy programme offers a well-rounded experience that blends skill development with a deeper understanding of the game. Players will work on core technical skills such as passing, tackling, scrums, and rucks, while also developing their tactical awareness through positional play, game understanding, and team strategies.
Alongside this, the camp places a strong emphasis on fitness, with sessions designed to improve endurance, strength, and agility in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Beyond physical development, players will also benefit from opportunities to build leadership skills, enhance communication, and develop a strong sense of sportsmanship through team-based activities.
Student welfare is central to everything we do at KGS, and the programme includes a focus on safety in rugby and injury prevention.
