7 February 2019
Congratulations to KGS Fifth Year pupil, Thomas , who has been selected to be one of four finalists in the annual ‘Classics Competition’ run by the Lytham St. Annes Classical Association. The title for this year’s competition is ‘My Three Favourite Artefacts from the Ancient World’. The competition has become a highly prestigious event and a place in the final is an achievement in itself. Thomas’s presentation, ‘Roman Connections Near and Far', is extremely interesting and well-researched. He is a budding historian/classicist of great promise. The final takes place this coming Saturday 9 February at 2pm at AKS and will be judged by Professor Michael Scott (best known for various BBC documentaries such as Hidden Cities). At lunchtime on Wednesday, Thomas delivered his presentation to an audience of staff and pupils. Well done, Thomas and good luck at the weekend!
